Missouri City Certified Mechanics

Missouri City Certified Mechanics

| By: Christian Brothers Automotive

What is ASE?

ASE is an acronym for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. They are an organization that tests and certifies technicians in the automotive industry.

How do technicians become certified by ASE?

From working on hybrid cars to collision repair, there are over 40 unique ASE certification tests. Applicants must receive a passing grade on at least one of these tests and have two years of related on-the-job experience to be certified by the ASE. Anyone who completes more than one test can receive Master status. These certification tests must be retaken every five years to ensure certified technicians are current with new developments.

What are the tests like?

A group of manufacturers, educators, technicians, and executives in the automotive industry write the tests. Most people take about two hours to complete an exam. Two-thirds of the people who take ASE certifications will pass on the first try.

What does ASE certification mean to you?

ASE certification helps mechanics provide a higher standard of service to their clients. Rather than just trusting any repair shop for the repairs and maintenance that your car needs, you can depend on someone you know will handle the work correctly.
