Oil change – get this basic maintenance service taken care of at least once every 3,000 – 5,000 miles. Especially if you are towing anything this summer, oil with a higher viscosity rating is recommended.

Belts and Hoses – if you have any cracks or leaks in the belts and hoses of your vehicle, they can become significantly worse in the summer heat and humidity. Have the belts and hoses checked so nothing breaks at the wrong time, leaving you stranded on the side of the road.

Windshield Wipers – wiper blades and heat are not friends. The Arizona sun could even melt and warp them until they are useless. Keep your wiper fluid in good condition to ensure you’re able to clear any bugs or raindrops that splatter the windshield.

Coolant – it’s tough for the engine to stay cool, particularly in the summer. To prevent overheating, your best defense is testing the coolant and making sure it’s at the proper level and in good condition. The fluid doesn’t last forever, so make sure you have it changed once a year.
